[Topic] Relationship between Pokemon and Japanese fashion

Pokémon Sun and Moon was released on 18 November !
I have found many Pokemon players on the internet and also in the town, train and everywhere.
In Japan, it seems that Pokemon has been popular with “not otaku people” rather than otaku people.(so many otaku people love Pokemon, of course!)

Why is that?

I think that Pokemon has acquired great universality with so cute and cool characters.
Especially the designs of player characters are remarkable.(It goes without saying that all Pokemon is universally cute and cool.)

These are successive player characters!

Wow!! Cuuuuute!!!!!!

And these are other characters in otaku animes!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
MARRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Otaku characters are so cute, to be sure, but they have no “reality”.
On the other hand, Pokemon characters are introduced into many Japanese real fashion.

Pokémon Sun and Moon’s player characters.(2016)
Her hair style(thick and heavy bangs, curling inwards) is really similar to latest fashions.

And the shape of knit cap, pushed back on her head, wearing with short sleeve shirt(for summer) is also recent trend.

Pokémon X and Y’s player characters(2013).
Look at the boy, “pants tucked into boots style” was popular with young men from around 2010.

“High-waisted skirt” have become a trend from around 2010 to now.
And “Knee-high socks” were popular with otaku girls until then, not otaku girls started to introduce it in the same period.

Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2(2012)
“Sun visor” had become a mini-boom from early 2000s to around 2010.

And “A-line” style cloth that is fitted at the shoulders and gradually widens towards the pants had been become a trend from early 2000s to early 2010s.

And “Culotte skirt” became a fad in the same time.

Pokémon Black and White(2010)

What are those?

Those are backing cloths of pockets!
This style became a fad around 2010.

And “double zippers (two-way zippers)” have become standard from the same time.

In this way, Pokemon characters have been introduced into real fashion67 and have been so much loved by both otaku and not otaku people.

…But I like otaku characters the best!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa MIKU Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
